I have a 1995 Ford 1220 with a Ford 7106 loader.
I am having problems with my loader hydraulics. If I slowly try and lift the bucket it will first drop slightly before it goes up. If I just slightly pull the lift lever the bucket will slowly drop to the ground. I haven't been able to find the part number on the two spool remote control valve, so I have no idea on how to find parts for it.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a load check valve that is stuck open. It would cause those symptoms.

Can you take a picture of your loader valve? So we can help you pulling the load check valve to inspect.

Thanks for the pictures.

So the load check valves are those Hex shaped plugs in between the steel pipes.

You'll need to pull those out and inspect. Depending on the style, it should have a spring and either a ball or poppet style plunger inside or just be contained on a cartridge. Just be aware that parts can come out and you don't want to lose those. Make sure everything moves nice and freely and there is no obvious rust, broken springs or a little piece of trash hanging the plunger open.

Removed both check valves and both looked ok. Swapped them to see if it corrected the lift. Didn’t seem to make any difference. Bucket drops before it lifts. If I just pull the lever slightly it still drops. If I pull it more then the bucket raises.
I am reluctant to remove the lift control to see if any of the rubber bushings are damaged because I don’t know the part number of the spool control and cannot find it on the internet. I am attaching a picture of what I found on the internet but it doesn’t have the part number of maker.

Would anyone know the name/ part number of the 2 spool hydraulic valve on the Ford1220 with the 1706 loader. If anyone knows of a replacement spool that would be appreciated. Note: the spool has float.

If you can buy just those load checks I'd try that first.

But I don't think most people do a direct swap with an oem valve....even if the part is available. Usually because a oem valve is $1500+

Most people source an aftermarket valve....which may require a little crafty ability (being able to drill and tap holes or make a bracket)....and also may require some hydraulic adapters. But an aftermarket valve can likely be had for 1/3 the cost

Would anyone know if the Ford 1220 has an open or closed centre. I am looking at this spool which is an open centre.

Open center for almost all compacts and utilities. Closed center for some industrial and some larger ag tractors

Also you may want to consider the more modern joystick style instead of the older 2 stick type. Easier to use and can usually use both functions at once without needing 2 hands by moving the stick diagonally

IT appears you have 7 hoses going to your valve.

That would mean you need a valve that is PB capable, and get the PB sleeve with whatever valve you choose

Viewing Tractordata confirms what other members stated that your Ford 1220 has open-center hyd system.

Don’t start messing with your hyd valve till you test your lift cylinders, with those exact symptoms one of your lift piston seals are blown.

It could be a Zexel or Kayaba valve. Diagrams are found in the Ford New Holland 1220 hydraulics section. The tractor year is later, but could be an earlier valve.
