2011 Kubota B3300SU
I've owned my Kubota 2011 B3300SU with BH-77 Backhoe for 2 years now. When it was delivered, I was shown how to remove the backhoe (partially shown really) but I have never removed it. The truth is, I've been chicken to remove my backhoe but I just ordered a WoodMaxx WM-8H chipper so I knew I was going to have to remove that backhoe in the near future to make use of that beast.

I screwed up my nerve & today was the day. I purchased some 1000# furniture dollies at TSC last week. I've been perusing threads on how to make a backhoe dolly which I will do but for now, the furniture dollies are pinch hitting. I got the backhoe off & onto the dollies without any significant issues (other than repeatedly hitting my head on the folded down ROPS). Since I was on a roll, I attached my StabilWorks stabilizer bars (purchased last summer & finally put on today). Feeling giddy with my success, I cut loose my 66" EA box blade in that was purchased in May of 2013 and which has sat securely on it's shipping palette until today as I attached it to my prior to now, never been used 3 point hitch!

Yay me! Starting to feel like a "real" tractor owner/operator now!!

The backhoe will get easier the more you change it. Don't feel too bad about not using your implements. When I bought my tractor, one of the tools I got was a Farmi skidding winch. It sat on the delivery pallet in the barn for 3 years before I used it. The original project I was planning on using it for never happened, and then we moved.

Go at it! Like it's said: the more you do it, the easier it will get. First time I took off my FEL, I was a bit anxious about it, but it is sooo easy that there's no reason not to remove it if it makes servicing the tractor that much quicker. Never messed with a backhoe, but I can see why you'd be less than eager to take it off the first time.

The Box Blade is no longer a virgin! I worked on an area that's been eroding at the end of my driveway for a couple of years. I have to say, I'm pretty pleased with my first effort! There's great advice on how to use a Box Blade here on TBN!!!!

Looks like you are ready to move up to the "Majors". Now if you can quit hitting your head on the folded ROPS, maybe you'll remember how all that went.:D

:drink: Sorry I would fist bump but can't find the dang emoticon. Yeah I bought a BH dolly from Bxpanded before I realized I should have welded up one myself. Still a very nice dolly. That said... the first time was a bit of a challenge. Now it is a piece of cake. Welcome to the pleasures of using implements! Looking good. Only problem I see is the box blade needs a paint job. :D

I want to know what attachment you use to trim the money tree you must have growing somewhere on that property. ;)

Truth be told I could probably afford that stuf too, except that we have horses. Like they say, the way to make a small fortune with horses, is to start with a large fortune.

Have fun with your toys bro.

I'd like to be able to buy EVERY attachment/implement I desire but that won't happen!! We are fortunate enough to own everything but our house at the moment. I spread out my requests for implement purchases with my wife & whenever possible, try to convince her that they're her idea!!!

With the way the backhoe is sitting on the dollies it looks like you will have some trapped pressure when you try to reconnect the hydraulic lines. When you take the backhoe off you need to cycle all the levers with the tractor off to relieve any hydraulic pressure so the hydraulics are not supporting any of the backhoe weight. It looks like you are using the boom cylinder to support weight between the dolly under the ripper and dollies at the tractor side of the hoe. You may want to put some blocks under the hoe near the boom pivot to support the weight. Since the stabilizers are up, you should put a ratchet strap between them to support their weight. When you go to reattach the hoe. You might have support the hoe under the boom pivot with a jack. Trapped pressure will make it difficult, if not impossible, to couple the quick disconnects when you reattach the hoe. To relieve trapped pressure so you can couple the quick disconnects, cover the nipple with a rag and tap the check on the end of the nipple with a hammer. You will get a squirt of oil into the rag and you may have to do it a couple of times to get the weight relaxed.

Thanks for your reply.

I did do this prior to disconnecting the hydraulics.

It looks like you are using the boom cylinder to support weight between the dolly under the ripper and dollies at the tractor side of the hoe. You may want to put some blocks under the hoe near the boom pivot to support the weight.

This was a temporary solution - have since successfully gotten it back on the tractor (without issues with trapped pressure) & onto a dolly that I built. I'll have to get some pictures of the BH on its new dolly.

Since the stabilizers are up, you should put a ratchet strap between them to support their weight.

It's not easy to see in the picture but the stabilizers have a bungee between them.

When you go to reattach the hoe. You might have support the hoe under the boom pivot with a jack. Trapped pressure will make it difficult, if not impossible, to couple the quick disconnects when you reattach the hoe. Good advice if I do get any pressure trapped. Thank you!
