That is an interesting looking hand pump,
I'm assuming that it is a piston pump with a couple of check valves and not a diaphragm pump.
It would be interesting to see the internals and seals and packings.

Yes, this is a piston pump, with a bore of 5.25 inches and stroke of 4 inches. I have no problem pumping half a gallon per second.
Check valves are cast iron with rubber seals, about the size of a bath plug. Anyone know when this was manufactured?
