<font color=blue>"I'm surprised that one never made it into syndication."</font color=blue>

It usually takes quite a few seasons to build up enough episodes to create a package to sell into syndication. If a show runs over 100 episodes (quite an accomplishment, actually) it only gives the syndication buyers something under six months of five-night-a-week programming.

Pete

PBS is selling the Prisoner? I'll have to check the website. I can remember the last show, If you don't want to spend the 70 bucks, I'll tell you how it ends for 35. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

There was one about I believe "Black Beard" the pirate coming back as a ghost and appearing to a mother and her children but not the father. A comedy.

And many already posted. Good topic. Brings back many great memories.

Re: Fav 60\'s Series

I'm stretching to remember these, but wasn't there one called 'The Rebel' about someone drummed out of the military in Civil War times? Had half a sword because his was broken as part of the discharge? Johnny Yuma was the lead character's name, I believe.

Re: Fav 60\'s Series

I don't remember if the broken sword was part of The Rebel but it was in 'Branded' with Chuck Conners. Remember how each show started during the intro? He was stripped of his stripes and his sword was broken and he was cast out of the fort...

Re: Fav 60\'s Series

That was it! 'Branded' I was but a wee lad when that was on. I do remember the beginning with the removal of the epalets, etc. Was that pre-Rifleman? I remember 'The Rifleman' a bit more clearly. Ironically, I really remember one term from that show that was used derogatorily by cattlemen to describe the farming Rifleman. They called him a "sodbuster." Strange the things you remember.

Does anyone remember what Chuck Conners did before he began his acting career? Or the unusual distinction he has from that time?

Re: Fav 60\'s Series

I remember that one so well, because it was the 1st show beside the Rifleman that I remember Connors being in.

Re: Fav 60\'s Series

If I recollect correctly, The Rifleman ran from 1958-63. Branded came a few years later.

<font color=blue>why didn't they have seat belts on the Enterprise?</font color=blue>

No ROPS, no seat belt. As it should be.

My favorite action series from the sixties was the Berkeley Riots. Oh, wait -- I don't remember that so much from the TV coverage as I do from being there. /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif

The 60's is still a blur.

Hmmm, I'm grasping at straws here. Could it be that he said the 'F' word on tv as a guest commentator for Monday Night Baseball? /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif

Re: Fav 60\'s Series

I was four years old then. Couldn't say if I saw it or not!

You know, you could start a whole new topic about old cartoons. I remember a bunch of 'em from my early childhood and they beat the pants off a lot of the crap that passes for cartoons today.

Re: Fav 60\'s Series

I see some of the old ones on cartoon network once in a while....I have to stop and think what some of them were...
