in answer to your question, yes NAEDA attorneys have been assisting dealers in talks with Textron, hopefully a method of disposing of dealer inventories will be reached soon that will minimise losses to both Textron and the dealers. what I find troubling is the apparent lack of interest by dealers of all brands and customers who have been affected in this fiasco. there needs to be major changes in the way business is conducted in this industry.dealers all across America have for years been forced to sign agreements, which essentially takes away all their rights, just in order to do business.many if not all states passed so called "buy back laws" and lemon laws to protect the dealers and consumers from highhanded tactics and fraud by MFGs. basicly the buy back laws were designed to protect the dealers from being stuck with unmarketable inventories if they ceased to be dealers for whatever reasons. however, the failure of the manufacturer to remain a viable concern was never properly addressed by legisilatures. buy back laws do not work if there is no one to buy the merchandise back.hopefully this ordeal now being experienced by farmtrac dealers and customers will serve as a warning to all dealers that in this failing economy, you can not afford to do business as usual, this could very well be repeated by other companies. we dealers must finally realise just how vital we are in the scheme of things and began to exercise our power and demand fair treatment from manufactors and financial organizations.regardless of how much money they may have, they must get their product to the buying public in order to survive.the dealer is the one in direct contact with that buying public and without the dealer, there will be no sales and the service to support that sale.the Farmtrac failure is a sad state of affairs and it should serve as a wakeup call to all Americans as to what is happening to our nation.companies and individuals from foreign countries are buying up American interests and businesses in this country at an alarming rate, taking the profits back to their countries and leaving Americans to shattered lives, our government has failed to provide it's citizens protections against these intruders and large american financial organizations have exploited the situation for their own profits.it was their fault this happened this time,if we allow it to happen again then it will be our fault.----Taxpayer

Sad to say Taxpayer but this next generation of customers will buy their tractors at the big box store use it several years then throw it away like they do lawnmowers and weedeaters today. There will be nitch markets and commercial markets that will need service but the compact tractor market will not have techniations that will work for nothing and no dealers that will sell a product for a little return on investment. The only business that can operate that way is a stock market driven company that has "free abundant" capital. You can see how this business has changed in the last 20 years just by looking at the repair manuals for auto's and tractors. 20 Years ago the repair manual explained how to rebuild the oil pump hydraulic pump etc. Now they say remove and replace you can't even buy componet parts for them. The manufacturor is teaching this next generation of techniations that daily in their schools. Sell a $650 hydraulic pump instead of $45 dollars worth of parts and 4 hours of labor. Labor who wants to Labor any more!!!! Who really makes the money on that deal. The manufacturer of course!!!! Look at the home applicance business it has basically become a sales business very little repair, if it breaks under warranty they just "give" you another one that will break soom after the warranty expires. "Built by robots of course" Then you have to buy another one --who is making money on that deal, the manufacturer and the salesman, no service needed. So if you need no on site service why do you need a building in each small town. You can just sell the products online and ship them right to the customers home, no saleman needed!!!! I think i'm going to buy a delivery truck and just wait for the business to come rolling in .   Wish someone would build tractors like the old 2 and 3000 Ford so we could repair them instead of change parts!!!!Oh!!!! they did but that company left the US!!! Go Figure!!!!! Something smells to high heaven about this situation and it is not my friend the skunk he only smells bad when he gets messed with. Better go take a shower!!!! No water quess the well has gone DRY!!!!!

I've following with great interest the whole Farmtrac saga. No doubt Farmtrac managment was nothing short of criminal with the scam they ran on dealers. It also seems as if Textron , if not a participant, was at the very least extremely negligent in continuing to buy invoices from Farmtrac when there was legal action taken against Farmtrac by LG back in the fall of 2007.

Let any dealer get sued for non payment by a supplier and your floor plan company would be at your door in about 48 hours wanting to know what the heck is going on.

Bad situation all around......but I was wondering....I came across this press release about the great year this crooks are having.
ESCORTS GROUP > The Escorts Group, is among India's leading engineering conglomerates operating in the high growth sectors of agri-machinery, construction & material handling equipment, railway equipment and auto components.

Doesn't even look like the same company.

The Farmtrac dealers have fallen victim to circumstances beyond their control and being punished for events that they had nothing to do with. They are pawns in the hands of sinister forces who think they are too big to fight against. This is , as one person told me, a "David and Goliath situation".......but, as I told him, "Read your Bible again and see who won that battle in the long ago". The Farmtrac dealers are some of the most hard working and most honest people I have ever known............JUST GOOD PEOPLE, PERIOD!!!!!!!!! The American people still have time to take this country back from the big corporations and, like little David in the Bible, come through victorious.........but time is running out. It's time someone takes up for the "little man".....and it's time for all decent Americans to stand together and say," We're not going to take it anymore!!!" With God's help, we'll get through this and THERE WILL BE SOME CHANGES MADE!!!!!!

True----True-----True----But that and 50 cents will not buy a cup of coffee at Star----Bucks----That's why tractor dealers have to over come this and stay in business They got g----o----o----d free coffee!! Getem to vote!!!Mr TBR

I have made it a matter of prayer.............and that, my brother is worth everything. The Farmtrac dealers need the prayers of all people who believe in GOD'S power............when man's power is exhausted, God's power begins. I don't mean to "preach".............but I am serious when I say "Pray for us"....................

Well SAID!!!!! But I am also going to say a little prayer for those guys at Tex---- and those that went back to India they may need more help than we think!!!!

Well Redneckford & NassauEquipment, the statements made by you both are so sadly true, the values we so proudly held high as we embarked on our begining in business, is no longer the standard we now see.the farmtrac dealers have fought valiently against almost impossible odds and have gained valueable consessions and time from a formidable opponent.but all battles must end and sometimes there is not any clearcut winners or losesers.the Textron-Dealer struggle will probably be one of those times.I feel the dealers would have been better served to have remained on this forum with their discussions. many good suggestions and support came from customers, other brand dealers and just good interested citizens.the only real concessions were made when public awareness and pressure became great.my loyal customers have a right to know what efforts I am making on their behalf as well as my own, they lost also.there are some who feel that a face to face meeting will change the end result with Textron, I do not, I will not engage in a war of words with experts who make their living with words.ultimately each dealer will have come to grip with Textron individually. what works for one dealer may not be possible for another. I understand that my comments may alienate some of my fellow dealers, but I will not allow any finance company, nor anyone acting on behalf of Escorts or Farmtrac to silence me or to thwart my efforts to uncover those responsible for this fraud.if Textron makes it possible for me to do so, I will recover as much of their loss as I can through sales of my inventory, if they feel they can get more by suing me, so be it. I personally feel it will be much more costly for both of us should they choose that route. it will not end the quest for the truth, I owe that to my customers and myself.-----------Taxpayer
