remember dealers
if you recended your contracts selling any think Farmtrac may be construed as acceptance of terms. I am waiting on council to define. We don't want to do anything that would set precidence in court.

56,866 Views of this thread. WOW, I think it is more then any on this Forum. Now that is a response to action. You guys are doing a good job. Keep up the good work. I Hope to get my tractor back next week. I will let you know how it goes. 
Hi guys, I am just a lowly 535 fel owner... I took delivery in sept. 07 financed with agricredit with the less then zero. got one check... ho well... agricredt is stone walling on refinance... maybe a good thing or not. we'll see... my heart goes out to the dealers... you guys are really receiving the brunt of the misfortunes.....

My dealer is stand up shop.. they told me they would honor the warranty with out framtrac.... nice people.... they have quite a bit of stock on hand as well...I feel for them as they are between a rock and .... Expletive deleted....

My dealer is a good man. He has 30-some Farmtracs parked on a hill behind his place. I was trying to negotiate a trade up to a 545 just before Christmas. He never called me back, which I thought was odd. When I finally talked to him in late January, he explained why.
Funny thing is, if things were to get straightened out, I would probably trade up to a 545, because I have had good service from my dealer (I have bought tractors there before), I like the product, and I need a tad more horsepower.
I have to say, though, I would probably be looking for a deep discount. I think that is what it will take for the product to become a viable alternative on the new tractor market again.
I looked at Farmtracs for several years before I decided to buy. I knew the old Ford NH platform was what I wanted, but I wanted to make sure the support was going to be there. I watched the Farmtrac display at Sunbelt Expo grow from a couple of local dealers with two or three tractors five or six years ago to an impressive display with tractors and implements from the entire product line on display the last year or two. I decided that the company was really trying to make a move in the US market, and I could buy with confidence that support would be there. We all see what happened.
I hope things get straightened out.
I'm afraid you are right,Textron has succeeded in soothing the rumblings of a group of outraged dealers,who were beginning to do what,politicions and big business fear most,and that is to band together and make known to the world,the injustice being heaped upon the little guy,who, are unable to defend themselves indiviually. Remember guys,while a bone thrown you ,may have a good flavor for a little while, it takes real meat to keep you alive to fight on.Read everything VERY CAREFULLY and trust only those who are bailing water out of the same boat as you. As I logged on tonight, I went to see who's online. I was surprised to see quite a few "guests" viewing this thread. Could it be the "powers that be" catching up on what we dealers are talking about?

It is going to take more than a fax to change things for me. The fax did not bring any of the financial loss back to my pocket that I have felt over the last 4 months. I hate to be the pessimists, but it can't be helped at this point.

I hope the "powers that be" see the view count and realize the outcome is important to what a lot of people are going to think about FNA, TFC, etc and will have some bearing on other brand choices etc. I for one and will suggest to others to find out where the money goes after the dealer (regardless of tractor color or dealer period!).

ie If you cash a check with the text "Invoice xxxx Payed in Full" or similar (not sure of exact correct verbage) and you cash it even though they said it was an installment they can legally avoid paying any more of a bill.
Another good one is when something is back ordered and then ships short sometimes companies will get close in quantity and stamp invoice "Final shipment Order considered COMPLETE" and will close out and bill accordingly. And when you accept shipment and pay that transaction is complete. So if you need more quantity you have to renegotiate price per quantity like its a new order.
Iwas also suprised by the number of times this thread had been viewed and I'm sure the big boys are among that number. but what really amazed me,was a couple of my farmtrac dealer friends admitted that they had never heard of this thread nor were they aware of what has transpired in the last few weeks.the only news they got came from faxes and E-Mails from farmtrac or Textron.this indicates to me that we should make more effort to make sure every dealer is aware of this thread and be invited to partisipate in the discussions.perhaps the members of the dealer council could E-mail all the dealers they represent.also farmtrac customers viewing this should also make sure their dealer is aware. after all, it affects you customers too.----TaxpayerBrentwood Power Equipment said:

A good price for a tractor helps tremendously to sell a tractor, but the consumer is going to have to feel really good about the dealer staying around for them, warranty and the availability of parts is also a key to making a sale. I received a call from one of my suppliers in Iowa yesterday. He says things are bad all over. It appears that 8 of his JD dealers have had orders for combines cancelled so that JD can send machines to Canada and Russia. It seems that the Canadian dollar is so strong against the American dollar that there is more profit sending machines to Canada.
Our Canadian friends really ought to take a serious look at Farmtrac now. As we have noted before you can use Same parts on the 7 series tractors, Montana parts on the 2 & 3 series, and Ford parts on the 5 series tractors. If you get the tractor cheap enough who cares about warranty. If the tractor is cheap enough it is worth the gamble--you may be one of the 90% who never need the warranty. So many of the tractors I've sold I have never had a warranty problem on them.
The fax from Textron says we'll have warranty for new tractors sold in the next couple months and then be able to buy warranty for tractors sold after that. If Textron will give us a phone number for consumers to call to verify that the tractor they are looking at has warranty I think that will calm some of the concerns the consumers will have.
