Farmtrac tractor

Would some one tell me who makes this tractor, are they reliable, are parts hard to come by. I have a friend who is wanting to buy it he thought I was a expert and I do not have a clue please give me some background thanks.

Only the compacts use Mitsubishi engines. The compacts are manufactured in S. Korea I think.

What model is your friend looking at? The 6 series are made in India by Escorts Group, they made the tractors for Ford New Holland. Parts are readily available for this series. My 675 has a Perkins engine made in England, (same engines in 4 series massey's) Caroni transmission (same as larger Mahindras. Been a great tractor so far.

Just for the sake of not getting confused why don't you tell us which model your friend is looking at.

Some of the Farmtrac CUT's have Daedong engines. Actually, most of them I think. Only a couple have the Mitsubishi.

Actually it is Carraro that Escorts licensee build the tranny/axles for. Farmtrac was the name of the Ford Tractor Division licensee for India that Escorts bought. The smaller utility Farmtracs use the older Ford technology,the newer ones use Perkins power with Carraro transference.
