Farmtrac 300dtc

Anybody have any ideas why my farmtrac 300dtc is having problems with the shuttle drive? It will go into foward pretty easy but cant hardly get it to into reverse. Would low hydralic fluid cause this?

I had this problem. Turned out to be a damaged synchromesh ring in the transmission. If that's it, you have to split the tractor. It was lots of work. I used jacks under the two halves and also ropes from the ceiling to keep the halves aligned for easier re-joining. Parts are cheap, at least.
