I have a Farmpro 2420, about 8 years old. I am replacing some of the electrical items, switches, lights, etc....Does anyone have an Electrical Diagram of the older style Farmpro with individual guages. Also, one specific question, I was replacing the work light and there is a red wire coming out of that light that I do not know what to do with. The old light, (damaged), also had a red wire, but it was not connected. Also, I don't even know which switch is supposed to bring on the work light....Any help would be appreciated.

I'm surprised that it's red, usually the dangling one is black. Anyway, you must have metal fenders. On plastic fenders the 2nd wire is ground. On metal fenders, the fender itself is ground. But with all that paint/dirt/rust under there, a metal fender ground makes for an unreliable work light. I prefer to ground the second wire with a connector lug and a sheet metal screw.

The worklight is #11 in this diagram, it's switched on/off by a one position pull switch (#8) on the dash.

Thank you very much for the diagram. I will look it over at my earliest convenience to see what it will take to make the light work. I was surprised to find 2 wires coming from the light, one green and one red, because the bolt and nut which hold the light to the "metal" fender, also has a ring tongue crimp connector with a black wire coming from the harness to provide a ground to the light frame. I was not sure how the light was suppossed to work, whether it has two lamps, not sure, maybe flashing as a warning if desired for going down the road. I just don't know.

Anyway, thanks for your help. I notice you are USN Retired. I served in the Navy in the mid to late 60's, 1 cruise to Viet Nam.

Thanks again

My guess is that it's a replacement lamp installed by a previous owner. The fenders on some of these things vibrate so much that you're lucky to get 1 year out of the OE work lamp, and 2 years out of the cheap auto parts stores lamps. It's worth the money to buy one that's shock mounted.

I was Pacific from '70-'80, then Med and Europe from '81-'92
