Farmer crushed by machine when dog moves control

A friend was over and we spent the good part of the day moving equipment around. A couple of times I did dash under a raised loader. Just how fast will a loader come down if a line breaks? It can't be that quick.
Common sense would tell you that your taking a risk. What do you suppose could fail in that situation, that would cause the loader to drop? BTW i've done the same.

Just saying that it typically is not one thing going wrong at a time that kills you. It is the freak thing that two bad things happen at the same time. Good safety practices generally eliminate the one thing... the other is out of your control.
Oh sure, this kind of thinking will make you old. In time.

If you've worked in dangerous environments, this kind of thinking is what gets you to the end of the day.

My point was missed. Not that there are two cylinders. But two ports to the cylinder. When stopped, they must both be dead headed. So if you blow one, presumably the one that has pressure, the suction side will still slow the loader if it doesn't stop it completely.

I’m pretty sure it will just pull a vacuum on the suction side.

It would be interesting to know for sure.
