Farmall Super A not charging

Ok that makes sense so here is my take. The battery is bad AND the Alt is not getting enough voltage for the exciter coil to kick on OR not wired correctly for the exciter coil to excite the alt to charge. Sometimes the alt needs a blip of the throttle to spin fast enough to excite. Those old tractors spin slow at idle and the smaller pulley on the alt needs a some RPM to start charging.

Clint S, this makes since to me also. The battery is very low. I will either charge the bat or pick up anther. Will let you know what happens. Thanks for your help.

When looking at the back of your alt, you should have a nut with a wire that goes to your battery.
Above that, two pin connector, the first one on the left is the exciter wire, the one on the right is the wire that monitors the battery voltage and charges accordingly, this wire can be sent to the battery wire with the nut. I noticed your "two" wires pass behind your muffler, things get pretty hot there, make sure your wires are in good shape.
