2007 farm pro 304
I bought a 2007 304 farm pro tractor from a dealer in Breckenridge Texas . Except for loose bolts this has been the best little tractors I've ever ran. Unbelievably strong for its size. The dealer back then literally went out of business 3 days later and I never received my bush hog or even a manual or title. The clutch has never felt right to me but has always worked. Now I let all the way out and if it goes at all , it has no power . It's gotten worse for the last 6 months. I've adjusted the linkage so that's not it . My pto does fine but my loader is all of sudden has started leaking off which its never done. I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not. Also the 4wd lever has broken off so I have used a pipe wrench but now it doesn't seem to be going in at all and when I tapped on the shaft sticking out , it went in all the way flush with the housing. Is there anyway I can adjust the clutch some how or am I out of luck. Please help.

Thanks for your reply affordable. I know exactly the loader plate your talking about because I've been looking it over. The strangest thing ever was when I got home I adjusted the linkage completely out to where the pedal would let completely out . I've done this before but this time it did grab enough for me to mow but I actually had to hold back on the pedal for it to go and even touching it would disengage it, so it definetly needs adjusting. I've been wondering if there's anything hydraulic that has to do with the transmission. The bucket has always held great but has started bleeding off now at the same time the transmission has messed up. I do not have a manual because I never got one but would definetly be interested in buying one from you and I'd like to know if I can order filters from you or someone. Thanks for your help. Who do I ask for when I call ?

When you say the loader is leaking, do you mean there is fluid dripping out, or just that the valve no longer holds pressure? It's a different fix. Also, what brand of loader do you have?

After eight years the hydraulic fluid might be overdue to be changed, crap in the fluid can keep the valve from sealing.

The loader is a koyker. It's leaking off in the valve I guess. It's not leaking fluid anywhere and I haven't ever changed the fluid either. I bought new hydraulic fluid a while Back but I didn't want to waste it without new filters . I don't understand any of the writing on the filters and never got a manual. I've never had any trouble with it before so I left it alone. Ive never had to work on any of it so I'm Outrun the Sun by Sam Riggs and The Night People
https://itun.es/us/7CPwRnot familiar with much of it. It must depend on who assembles them as to whether their any good or not. I have a friend who bought one the same year and has had some trouble but mine has been unstoppable and the loader would either pick it up , break a bolt or chain or just lift the tractor off the ground . Do you know how to get filters and what fluid / oil do you recommend? Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a seal is leaking. Tommy (Affordable above) will have the seals for the Koyker loader and a filter. Replacing the seals is easy, take the valve apart, put the new seal in, put the valve back together. I have the same year 354 also with a Koyker, last summer one of the seals started dripping, I replaced it in a few minutes and it's been fine ever since.

To adjust the clutch you need to take the loader off, the access to the clutch adjustment spot is behind the loader mount point. I made a dolly for my loader by putting casters on a pallet, it makes putting the loader back on again much, much easier. To get it back on you have to position it in just the right spot, which is hard because it weighs hundreds of pounds. The Koyker website has instructions for taking the loader off. It came with two support legs, you put them on and set it down so it's resting on the legs and the edge of the bucket. It's only held on by two pins, you take those out but you leave the hydraulics attached. Then you curl the bucket so that the whole thing tips away from the tractor. Once it's clear you disconnect the hydraulics and back the tractor out.

Make sure not to run the tractor with the hydraulics disconnected, that will dead-head the hydraulic pump in an instant and ruin it.

With the loader off you can take the mounting plate off the side of the transmission and access the adjustment point for the clutch. If the clutch is beyond adjustment you need to replace it, that's a bigger job but doable by someone handy with no special tools.

Thanks for info. I'm glad you told me not to run it with hydraulics disconnected. Is it ok to back it off the loader and pull into garage with them unhooked ?

Do you mean to not run the hydraulics for the loader while it is unhooked or do you actually mean to not run the Tractor while the loader is unhooked? Doesn't make sense that you can't run the tractor as most times they don't come with a loader... Please verify for this newbie! Thanks!

The quick-connects for the loader are one male and one female. With the loader off they need to be connected to each other at all times when the engine is running. The hydraulic pump moves a fixed volume of fluid with each rotation, it needs a path for the fluid at all times. If the quick-connects are unattached the fluid is backed up and either the pump will blow up or a hose will burst.

On my 354 the starter motor won't turn the engine with the quick-connects disconnected.
