Farm Pro (Jinma) 2430 Gearbox Problem

I have a Farm Pro 2430 4x4 That I can't get into 3rd gear
Other gears & clutch work fine
Tractor worked fine last fall, & I graded drive one time this winter
Has set outside for 30+ days in very cold weather -4f was lowest
Started fine yesterday 55 degrees but no 3rd gear,
Shift lever will not go in at all
I have not taken top of gearbox off yet, the only thing I can see is rubber gear boots need replaced
Anyone had this or similar problem & what is next step to diagnose & repair ?
Although for my use, 1st, 2nd, & 4th gears are probably all I need,
I do not want to develop future problems

If the boots are bad water got in and has caused issues. Not good.

I just checked the fluid in transmission & no water or rust
Fluid was a little low though, just barely on the dip stick
I might take the top off tomorrow to see if any shift forks or gears are bad

I agree, if the shift boots are bad they are letting moisture inside the transmission, the shift rails are right below the shifter.Take the cover off, if its a broken shift fork they are not hard to replace,we also have the replacement shift boots and any other part you may need

I agree, if the shift boots are bad they are letting moisture inside the transmission, the shift rails are right below the shifter.Take the cover off, if its a broken shift fork they are not hard to replace,we also have the replacement shift boots and any other part you may need

I hope it's just a fork, everything mechanical worked perfect till now

I also might need a some electrical also
Some of the lights don't work & it looks like someone tried to fix via straight wiring voltage regulator & flashers,
fuse box seems fine
This is 4th China Tractor I've had & the 30 hp is just right for my use

On mine the cover comes off super easy, just four bolts. The gasket is above the oil level so reusing it didn't result in any leaks. With the cover off it's pretty self-explanatory, you should be able to see what's keeping it from going into gear.

Well, Cover off today & I think my problem is low, very low, fluid. Nothing seems broke or out of place, I can not get either shifter fork to engage by hand.
Shift tubes do have a little discoloration but not too rusty, I am gonna try to post some pics
If shifter tube, gear, or fork is seized, how to remove ?
I assume that this tractor is combined transmission & rear axle fluid, as I could not find a drain for transmission only.
Is the drain at the center of the rear axle ?
Any input appreciated

My recollection is that the forks are held on the tubes by a pin, if you drive the pin out the fork is free to slide on the tube. Once the fork is free the tube can be slid toward one end enough to remove both tube and fork. I definitely was able to replace a fork without doing any more disassembly than taking off the gearbox cover.

Others can correct me, but I believe removing a gear requires taking the gearbox out, which requires splitting the tractor. That's a whole day job. I would start with taking the tubes and forks out and seeing if you see anything.

Are you saying that the 3 shift forks in the left picture cannot be moved? They are in an unusual position and when I saw them, I thought you had pushed them there. What gear was the gearshift lever in when you removed the cover?
