Farm Pro 2420 Tractor
I purchased a Farm Pro 2420 Tractor w/front loader,
The manual is mostly Chinese. I had steering problem,so i called the dealer. he sent out his mechanic. he couldn't figure it out. latter it started working again. While he was there i ask
what lubricants i should use. he said sae 30 oil for motor & hydraulic tank. can anyone tell me where i can get a manual in english so i can find recomended oils & and fluids for my tractor,I never heard of useing oil instead of hydraulic fluid?
I don't want to mess anything up in my new tractor any help would be appreciated.
Thanks roland

I have a Jinma 224 and use 15w 40 in the engine. I use 80w 90 gear oil in trans/rear diff and front diff. I use universal hydraulic fuild for hydraulics. Thats what I choose to use but others use 30w oil in different areas. Its been debated on what oils to use often. Check these sites for more info. The first site below is a free site and the later a paid site. Your choice. Regards, Harry G

Roland:

look for a post from JohnS he runs his own personal web site dedecated to the JINMA tractors and I belive he has the manuals on there in a WORD format for download. he has his web site address published under his profile and has tons of information on them. The farmpro tractors are JINMAs with their name on them.

also there are many different types of loaders. ZL-20 is the import version, and then there are Great Bend, Koykier (spelling?) and Spirt. maybe one or two others too.

watch out for how the Hydraulic system is plummend they usually have a QD right after the pump and if one pops off the hyd pump will blow a seal. requireing replacement. it aws a problem that people were removing their loaders and would disconnect them while the engine was running. and also getting POPPED by brush as they hang down in the way if they get roughted incorrectly.

the 30 std weight oil is what they use in china, it is better to use the B303 or universal HYD fluid as it flows better and has anti foaming agents in it. the heavy china oil will/can also suck the inlet strainer/filter closed causing air bubbles/cavitation to reach the pump a 2nd problem easly solved with good fluids.
While on JOHN'S Site look for a link called CHEAP INSURANCE and do as it shows!!! uses some ZIP ties to keep the QD fittings from popping loose. also there is tons of good info there read as much as you have time for.
great tractors with a couple quirks only.

While there are lots of types of heavy equipment that use 30w in the tranny.. I would deffinately check to se ethat they were correct in quoting that to you.. seems like a UTF might be better..

Guys, thanks for all the press for my site.

As far as front axle and transmission fluid goes, Mike Stuart recommend the the Universal Transmission/Hyd fluid for normal duty, and 80W90 gear oil for severe use. Just this weekend, I switched from the Universal to 80W90, but made a little mistake. The oil I purchased was not anti-foaming. After just a short ride, I had about 2-3 inches of foam on the transmission dipstick. I am told this is a bad thing, and will have to clean it out and change it. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

BTW, the Universal hyd/trans fluid was not labeled anti-foaming either, but apparently it was. As far as I can tell, the only way is to look up on the web, about the different brands.

PS: Since I have a FEL always installed, that is why I was going to the severe use recommendation.

If you are in the market for a new compact tractor and what you have read here worries you, look into Task Master Tractors. Task Master is about as American a tractor as there is. For more information on purchasing a Task Master Tractor or becoming a dealer of Task Master Tractors, call:

"for a tractor built in China", you might get some agreement. But I'm sure that you can ruffle a few feathers, by saying it is the most American tractor out there. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Maybe "Americanized" would have been a better choice of words. Cuz I think every TaskMaster I've read about was rebadged Jinma.

Greg, I believe all of the TM tractors are made by DF, to "their specifications". Which are supposidly, more americanized, than the rest of the Chinese tractor crowd. From my understanding, they have sold many types of chinese tractors in the past, including Jinma.

PS: Is that big new Kama arriving soon?
