Rake Farm Force rake ?

I recently purchased a 6' Farm Force rake from TSC. It's supposed to be a cat 1, but the top link pin hole is much larger than the pin and is quite sloppy, it is also bigger than the hole on my tiller too. Is this common on these low priced rakes, am I needing a differnt pin set up, or is all ok?

I'm betting you get what you pay for. You couldn't use a larger pin because it wouldn't fit the upper link hole.

If the pin won't fall out, you could just live with it. If you don't want to live with it, I'm sure you could return it.

I would see if you can get a bushing that will fit in the larger hole on the rake to use your cat 1 pin.

I own one. Its kind of a piece of junk rake. Take it back if you can.

After using mine for a couple of weeks, I have come to grips that it will be a dress up tool. Anything heavier than that, I'll use the boxblade. I also have the Farmforce boxblade. Does an ok job, just have to go slow. A little more weight would have been good. So far, I'm content with them, not crazy happy, but content. I'm hoping after some more seat time, I'll fine tune it. Now I have to figure out what to do with all those rocks I pulled up.

The same situation exists with the Farm Force carryall TSC sells. I bought one because it was cheaper than buying steel and fabbing up what I wanted, only to find the top link hole was a Cat 2 size despite the lifft pins being Cat. 1.

I bought a Cat2->Cat1 toplink bushing at TSC, cut two pieces out of it, and welded the pieces into the holes. It would probably have been okay to leave them loose, but both of my toplink pins had heads that could pass though the Cat 2 hole.

I bought the FF 5' rake with gauge wheels in July. No issues with the top link pin size; fit my BX perfectly. BUT, the bottom pin spacing is 20" which is Cat 0 I believe. Not a problem per se, except I was thinking about getting one of those Harbor Freight quick hitches. I will probably go with Pat's or the EZ hitch to avoid issues with lower arm spacing differences between implements. Seems the spec's on these cheaper 3PH implements vary a lot, even within the same make/model.
