The belt I installed last January when I R&R my hydraulic pump pulley came apart last week. The belt is still making a loop, but the outside seperated from the tooth side. This just with under 100 hours on it. Makes no sense to me.

Brandi,

Here's a troubleshooting guide I found... maybe it will help you diagnose your problem... but I'd suspect that you just got a bad belt.

What brand of belt was it, any way to tell anymore?

Brandi, sorry to here about this. :( On the bright side, you have not had all that many problems with the RED BEAST, and the few that you have had have been minor.

Hope that things are getting better for you. ;)

Guys,
The belt is still a complete loop on the outside. All the teeth (in new condition) seperated from the outside loop. It totally seperated, length wise, not cross ways. That isn't in a chart.

Yep, that's why I suspect you just got a bad belt. Never seen one fail like that before...

Brian,
How is Corporate Aviation these days?

Well, I guess I would say it's not so good... at least not like it was 2-3 years ago... the recession has definitely had an influence.

Did you get the Big Red Beast back up and running? Any theories on your belt failure?
