fair price for a plow

I bought a cat. 1 3pt 1 bottom plow in very good shape this weekend at a sale for $100. Does this sound like a fair price. I brought it home and started plowing with it, it does a real nice job. I also thought about buying a Big Ox brand bush hog but I don't know of any dealers for them in my area. I not sure how good of quality they are. Does anyone own one of these. I probably should have bought it too. I believe it sold for $310 4ft model.

That's a good buy on the plow. 1 or 2 bottom plows are more in demand than bigger ones. That plow would easily sell for $250+ here.

That's right, I think that you got a good price. I have a single bottom that I want $175 for.

You got a pretty good deal.
I bought a John Deere, 2 bottom, 14" plow with 18" coulters. I put a lot of sweat into it to get it useable. It was worth it, I guess.

I paid $225 for it at a farm auction.

They were a good solid cutter, however about 12-15 yrs ago, I am pretty sure they went under. We were a dealer for them at the time and we have not heard of any other company reviving the Big Ox line --Ken Sweet

Ken Sweet! Just the man I was looking for. I saw where Mundfordville got nailed by one of the Tornado's last night. Any damage? Everyone OK?

I would have to agree I sold a good 5 bottom a few years back at a neighbors sale for $225. I was glad to get that.

Amazing that no one was hurt. Serious damage to the downtown area (Historic District) . Thanks goodness that our store is on the north end of town by the I-65 interchange, so we missed the tornado path by over a mile. Thanks for asking--Ken Sweet
