Factory work lights

Thanks for the comments. I wouldn't mind upgrading to LED's too, but I need to find the price/performance match that would make me happy. Let us know if you find a happy medium. Philip.

I completely understand. LED pricing is exactly why I haven't pulled the trigger....

I have found some cheap LED's, but I am sure I will get what I am paying for. Have learned that lesson enough not to repeat. For now, my 35W $15 NAPA lights work well for moving snow in the dark winters. They are original since I put them on in 2009, and when I hit a branch, I do not cringe. Philip.

Right now I am using regular work/tractor flood light, I think 55watt. I have researched LED's for too long now and can't bring myself to spend the money for the ones I know will be good and the cheaper ones I'm not sure I'll be happy with. After just last week doing some work in the dark again and not having light behind me I got mad and went and bought four lights. I'm going to order switches today or tomorrow and then get everything installed once the switches and fuse block come in. I will start a thread on the install and show where I'm mounting the fuse block behind the dash and I'm trying a unique spot to mount the rear lights so we'll see how it goes.

Do yo have any pictures of how/where you mounted your lights and switches? I have my rear lights mounted already and think I know where I'm gonna mount the fronts but I can change it if there is something better out there.
I did birth the BX1500 and the L4400 the same. Same lights and same method of mounting and wiring. There is some glare with the lights behind your head but it works well for me.

How many amps do those lights draw?

How many amps do those lights draw?

Thats the peculiar part 4 lights x 27 watts = 108w/12v= 9a 108w/13.8v=7.8a

9 amps is what I should read but I actually get 6.4Amps to 7.4Amps with all four lights on. If 2 lights are on I get a little over 4 amps. I am using a good fluke clamp on DC amp meter. I was surprised to see this as I was expecting to see a little under 10 amps. I saw the same reading on both tractors. My bX1500 has the original generator and have had no issues with it.
