B2920 Kubota, GT275 Deere
Tried to buy these at the Huntsville Kubota dealer the other day but could not find anyone "working" there who knew what they were or what they cost. After about 20 minutes of discussion among 3 or 4 people, they determinded that they were $300 each and I needed one for each wheel (total +$600). I gave up and left which probably made them happy since they never seemed very happy to see me.

Anyway, guess I'm going to order them from Messicks, I just wondered if anyone had any photos of them. From what I've read, they are 1-3/8" spacers with thru-holes and they come with longer lug bolts which pass thru the spacer.

I was told (not by the Huntsville crew) that they are Kit # B8786.

Yes, some photos would be great to see before I commit to buying them.

Thanks for any help,
Howard

I was also interested in rear wheel spacers for my B2920. I started a thread a few weeks ago looking for more information. No one responded to my questions. When I checked with my dealer he said Kubota does offer the spacers but there was a footnote in his catalog that said they are not recommended for the B2920 if it has a mid mount mower. The dealer thought they would cause interference between the wheels and the mower deck. I checked with Richard at Bro-Tek which offers the spacers. He said he has sold a number of them and has never heard of the interference problem. If you go to the Bro-Tek web site it shows pictures and prices of the spacers they offer. I think both Kubota and Bro-Tek offered them at around $300 a pair. I still haven't ordered them as I don't want to spend $300 to find out that I can't use them.

I have been to the Bro-Tek site several times and I have yet to find the wheel spacers. I thought I was pretty internet sazzy, but I must just be pushing the wrong button or something. :)

Bro-Tek: Tractor Add Ons

I'd really like to see the factory spacers before I commit the money. $300 is a lot to spend on 1-3/8" spacers and I'm don't know how much stability they would add, but I'm a little leary of the wider 2" spacers putting more stress on the axles.

Thanks for the response,
Howard

Howard.... Contact Richard at Bro-Tek at this address:

Bro-Tek@hotmail.com

I recently bought a set of wheel spacers from him that had to be specially machined to fit the odd-ball wheels on my narrow track B7800. He had them machined and shipped within 3 hours of placing my order, at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend his product and you will not find better service.

I put a pair on my B3030. They are the real McCoy straight from Kubota and were about $325 for the pair, and were 1.5 inches wide. Here's the best pics I have of them. I didn't have the clearance to use chains on my rear wheels without them.

I second the Bro-Tek idea. I got them for my tractor, also a B7800, loader, backhoe and hated to put them on my tractor, the machining was absolutely a work of art.

The hardware was included. Shipping from New Brunswick, Canada was fast and reasonable. Richard, at Bro Tek, invited me up salmon fishing.

They seem to help a great deal with stability, but I got them to get rear tire clearance for chains because the backhoe frame was too close to the tires.

The only problem I had , was remounting the fluid filled rear tires. They are clumsy and heavy. I ended up by putting a floor jack under the tire and using the castoring and lift to position the tire. For me it was a two person job. Somebody more experienced might chime in here.

Maybe useful, Dave, Maryland

I haven't had the rear wheel off my 2920 yet, but from what I can see, they appear to be hub-centric.

Are the Bro-Tek spacers hub centric on both the axle side and wheel side?

Are the spacers steel or aluminum?

Thanks,
Howard

Howard....Yes, the Bro-Tek spacers are hub-centric on both the axle and wheel sides. They are solid aluminum and the included hardware is high strength metric grade steel. Google "Bro-Tek wheel spacers" and one of the first pages listed is a pdf file showing installation instructions named "Model BX-WS-R Bro-Tek". This may answer some of your questions, certainly Richard at Bro-Tek can answer all your questions.

I too have the Bro-Tek spaces on my B3300 & they're excellent! Superb quality, price & customer service. So good in fact that I subsequently bought a mechanical thumb for my backhoe from them too!
