Mowing F3680 Cutting out

Hi all,

My 3680 goes great, but every so often, about once every five or ten hours, it just stops.
It will sometimes start right up and run for the rest of the day, and other times, it won't start again until the next day, or after a long rest.
When it stops, its like the stop solenoid - its that quick, so I replaced that. No better.
I also had an issue with the brake microswitch, so replaced that a while ago.
When I start it and it won't keep running, it does run until you let go of the starter, then it just dies immediately.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

If your solenoid is a 3 wire sol.? there are relays that make it run. Theres a "start" relay & a "hold" relay..
It sounds as if your "hold" relay is shot.. or the key switch is bad..
If you have a service manual, that should tell u where the relays are{I don't know}
THIS IS a very common problem..

Thanks for the speedy reply! I'll check it out in the manual and locate the solenoids. Thanks fully it's currently 'bust' so I may be able to isolate which one it is.

IF you have to move it or NEED to run it, just remove the solenoid & tape/plug the hole..
Just remember, you wont be able to shut it down w/ the key switch..
Look at how the sol. works.. you'll have to reach in the hole & push the control rack..
OR.. the machine might have a manual shut down lever on it.. should be by the throttle lever..
