F-14 or F-12?

I just got what I thought was a farmall F-14 on all steel but the tag on the tractor says the model is a F-12.
It has the raised steering like a 14.
Is there 12's out there with a raised steering? The guy I got it from said his dad bought it new and no major work has ever been done on it. ( I was thinking the tag was changed)
Also are there some good books on restoring one of these?

Butchie - Welcome to TBN. As far as the 12 vs 14, I have no clue. But a suggestion. There are a lot of forums here with very specific topics. If you look farther down the list, there is a forum for vintage tractors. That would be a better place for this type question. It is very likely someone will see it here and maybe have an answer. But the chances are probably better there.

Hi Butch,
I was under the impression that the F-14 had the slight angle on the steering shaft. Im no expert since I have 2 Farmalls and the are a 42 A and 49 Super A. But if you go to Yesterdays Tractors and log onto the Farmall site you will get some answers! Ther is also a photo gallery on the site, just do a search on an F-14 and you will get loads of pictures./ They also have a serial nimber secttion that you can check also /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
