*If I was that customer I'd simply walk out of the store with out saying a word leaving the cart setting right there.
That's probably why stores don't or won't do that.

Here is a question for you. If YOU are the one with the cart full of groceries, why would you walk up to a counter than had a sign "15 items or less" marked on it? Are you special? can you read? do you think that rules don't apply to you?

People are people, and as such, you should expect anything

Words of wisdom indeed!

Your actions were justified.
Her actions were selfish:
a) for not letting someone with a few items go first,
b) and for having over the item limit and not caring.

It was well said and well played.

Talk about junk in the trunk!! If they are that wide they should have a Wide Load sign. Ware a green dress with red earrings and they could be taken for a Bus.

I agree with Bird Its simply not worth your health to get so upset over it.We have all experience it at one time or another, Its similar to what happens on the roads. You have to relax and think ahead in a few minutes or even seconds its all over and done with. These people go on their merry way and you stew for along time after...
I think when they open new register they should do what they used to the clerk would walk up and tell the next in line, I am happy to take you and you to my line .
Sad that people will probably still try to butt in.

That all makes a lot sense. I have seen that system used somewhere besides banks and don't remember where. Could it have been a BX/PX ?
Dave.

Probably the commissary, Dave. That is how it is done at Fort Hood.

Some of the comments remind me of my son, he was about 5 years old at the time. Standing in line at the local rack and sack market. Large gal behind us had her beeper go off, son looked up at me and said, watch out, she' backing up.
