1972 MF 135 diesel, Kubota L3940
2007 L3940 diesel. I have noticed that the tractor nameplate on the frame behind the exhaust pipe becomes covered with a black, greasy soot within a few weeks after cleaning the pate. If this normal for a tractor this age? only have 700 hours. thanks

yes it is

It's normal for most of the kubota's with an exhaust placed in a lower location. I have a BX2370 and the FEL arm is turning black. The only ones that don't do that are the newer kubota's with the tier 4 emissions stuff in them.

Normal for a B2620. All of my front implements are covered with soot. Nature of the beast.

Mine is sooty. It also covers with a very thick layer of frost while warming up in -20 degree temps lol.
