Did the heat cook your air filter?
That is smoke from the exhaust. The grass burner dumped just in front of the air intake.
The bottom one is new....I can see daylight through it. Not so much on the top one.

I worked on an irrigation motor years ago. It was a small diesel lift pump for flood irrigation. They didn't have the exhaust led very far away from the pump house and the wind swirling the exhaust lead it back inside the pump house. The filter was so plugged the motor wouldn't run any more. Your filter looks pretty pristine compared to the one we pulled off of that little diesel motor.

I cant see through the top one, but I can the bottom/new filter.

Once I had a situation like that so I built an upright exhaust and put a Donaldson pre-cleaner on top. It took all the dirt out first , fixed the exhaust issue and I rarely even had a dirty air cleaner again. You don't see pre cleaners much but on ag equipment or tractors in dusty conditions, they work great.

I was outside puttering around yesterday and took the system apart again. Turned the bottom 45° around and voila I gained the inch clearance from the fuel tank heat shield I was looking for. I need a 1.75" OD to 1.75" ID adapter, which I will get from Canadian Tire on Tuesday, along with another muffler clamp.

I got the adapter this morning. Phone into Canadian Tire and order the part, give them the CC number and when I got there a guy came out and looked at my I.D. and went and got the part. painless, except that I really didn't want to give up the cc for 10 bux worth of stuff. But I also do not want to wait until the goobermint decides it is safe for us all to mingle again. I've got work for the tractor and cannot run it without any exhaust.

A little more 'adaptation' and she is all together. I will see how it performs today when I bury the cat AND get after the lean-to that desperately needs to come down.

I had to cut away more of the hood than I planned, on the left side the script reads KIO 7, on the right side it is a Kioti CK27.
She is all together with the 2.5" stack 30" long. That will do until the 48"x3" stack gets here. Pictures to follow in daylight.

I worked her for an hour today. With her running along side the exhaust pipe I could feel the breeze from the fan. This is a good thing. After the 'social distancing' thingy is over with I will drop into a muffler shop and get a better one piece pipe made. I am thinking stainless steel.

The exhaust sounds sweet, loud and with a very small touch of bass. The bass situation will improve with the 3"x48" stack.
The best thing of all is that now she can breath!

I spelled breathe wrong and this is the only way I can fix it a day later.

It sounds like it will be about 3 weeks before I get the 3x48" stack pipe. By that time I will be back to work and not available for the summer, as usual. This is a normal thing, gone by mid May and back in October.

3X48" stack pipe came yesterday. It will get installed today. I may have pics of the final install and if I can figure out how to do it maybe a sound clip as well.

The pipe that is on it will be donated to the neighbours' MF 135. He has a grass burner as well, but his muffler is so rotten that it doesn't carry the fumes past his butt. We will fix that. Cut the muffler out and install two pipes with hangers and a 45° down turn and he should be good to blow snow next winter without getting gassed out.

The paint on the stack is actually Tremclad high heat stove paint in gloss black. They didn't have any flat black.
The stack got 2 coats. According to the instructions on the can it is supposed to get tacky in 5 minutes, so I waited 10, then re-coated it. Gave it about 15 minutes to kick and then worked the tractor for 2 hours. The picture is after the two hours of work.
The exit hole is angled back about 1 or 2°.

The sound clip a little over a minute. If the wavy video bothers you, then close your eyes.

Link not working for me. Set it up so only people that have url can view. Then post url.

She is set up "Public" but you gotta be over 18 to watch it.

I clicked on the link you quoted and it worked fine. I'm not sure what is going on.

02 June 2021 and the same exhaust is on as it was a year ago. Paint on the stack is a little the worst for wear but that is to be expected.
I wont know until the end of this year (2021) if there is any difference in fuel consumption.
