/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif That reminds me of Sister Kevin Patrick from my high school. She taught physics and chemistry. She had a little Telsa coil "sparker" that she would use to show how arcs can jump a gap. I think it put out about 7500 volts. She would arc it to her finger and hold it a couple seconds - wouldn't even flinch. Then she'd pick on the class loudmouth/toughguy - dare him that he couldn't do that without moving. I think he jumped four feet in the air when the spark hit him, & seemed a bit more humble from then on. Of course, I don't think he was quite as isolated from ground as she was, wearing those thick black nun shoes!
Couldn't do that nowadays - parents would be suing right and left.
