3 times for me :ashamed:
The one I came closest to actually shooting someone was when I had to point a Beretta 9 mm right at a belligerent guys face from 8 feet away, safety off, finger on the trigger. I'm surprised I didn't pull the trigger since I was shaking like leaf on a tree. He was armed with a bat, threatening a young guy that worked for me. He was a little drunk or high, but straightened up remarkable fast. Turned out the two of them had some dirty dealings I was unaware of at the time.
That was a middle of the day situation. But the most chilling situation occurred late at night, when an abusive boyfriend of someone we knew, unloaded 6 rounds from a .357 thru the side of a house she was staying in, when he saw her with a male friend. We knew this was coming as there had already been protective restraining orders etc.
My sister heard the gun shots in the neighborhood, and told me to go investigate, I did not hear a thing, and told her she was crazy. But when I went outside I sensed something was very wrong, way to quiet except for a dog that was baying nervously.
Went to the house armed with only a .25 auto, and looked in the window. Saw plaster and broken glass strewn all over the place, then I saw the legs of what I knew were her friends, lying on the floor. I thought for sure it was a murder. I was near frozen with fear. I assumed the shooter was in the house with the girl, as I was trying to get up the nerve to go in, I saw her on the phone. Turned out the guy shot up the house from outside and left, the guy on the floor was just in shock. Six 357's went right thru the room they were in, it was definitely an attempted murder. When the crime scene was recreated, it was determined that I must of crossed his path, but only about half a minute later. He emptied the revolver, unknown if he had reloaded
