I also would clean it out, degrease it brake cleaner and JB weld in a hollow bolt with an allen head nut downt the center for drain function. It will drain Sloooooooow, but slow is better than no.

Wow, this is really a good idea for this or some other similar problem down the road. Imagine, 60 years old and turned wrenches for most of them and never discoved this idea. I guess an old dog can learn new tricks.

That's the peril of hanging out here, you may become a tricky old dog!

Or just the smartest guy on the block. I know I have gotten a lot smarter by listening to the experiences shared by the group.

I have never personally cracked one but repaired a few like it. I just Tig weld the whole cracked area and then drill and tap it out. Not a bad job to do.
