ESC switch LS 240 HST

Anyone know what the ESC main and ESC speed up/down switch on the LS240 HST does?

There is no explanation in the manual, the electrical diagram shows them going to a resistor pack and to the ESC.

Engine Speed Control. Lets you set a RPM and always go to that when you enable the switch.
Let me see if I can find the description again, not intuitive to set but then works well.
