Can you jump the solenoid to force it to engage?

Thanks Jim:
Dealer called Kioti Corp. and they said never seen that code before. They said clean battery neg. to frame connection. Did, no change. Something weird electrically is going on. Hummm I have video but cannot attach it. The dash lights start flashing, then dead, battery light starts going dim. Battery fully charged. 83 hrs on tractor.

thanks

Disconnect the battery for at least 30 min reconnect wait a min and try starting. That might clear any codes that could be preventing it from starting.

You said the starter is not engaging. What happens when you try to start? Does it act like there is no power? What happens if you try without pressing the clutch?

Tried disconnecting battery. Will try again. Not sure if it was off for 30 min.
Here is link to dash flashing. Have to go now. Will answer "What happends when try to start?" later. It is HST. Will try w/o pushing in clutch.

Same results with or without clucth. Hydrostatic. Battery Volls = 12.53. Battery charger says "fully charged". Battery disconnected all day. Same results.

However after 2-3 attempts the flashing went away. Still no start.

Not sure if you can hear from video; lots of clicking noises. Not sure much is normal? I never really listed to it when it worked; other than the normal clicking when tractor goes through its start up cycle and the dash gauges "reset".

I am thinking the "H" code = High. Maybe starter soleniod?
thanks

Looks a lot like a weak relay or perhaps the key (ignition) switch. Do u have a second person available to check voltage at the starter when u turn the key?

Ya know.. I was thinking it might something related to switch. Tractor has 83 hrs. From day one I thought the key switch on it was total junk. It is hard to turn. Does not smoothly go from accessories to pre - start, to start. One has to twist it hard to get it to move. It catches hard before going to the next position.

Anyone else have this experience on new Kioti tractor?

thanks for ya-all input

AWSubie: Can measure starter voltage. What should it drop to at start? HUmmmm I will also try it a few times and put my hand on the starter soleniod to see if it is HOT.

If you look at the video, the battery light goes dimmer when holding in the start position. Pretty sure something electrical.

Since your battery is fully charged you should have no less than 12 volts at the starter but I’m guessing that you won’t see voltage at the starter.

Kioti key switches have been bad for the last 15 years . seams like 85% of troubles are because of the switch .

I’d guess ignition switch also, spray inside the switch with a bunch of wd40 , unhook the battery and then cycle it through every position several times. Hook the battery back up and try it.

Voltage at starter.... it is connected directly to battery. However, no voltage at soleniod when moving switch to start position. At least we have more info now.
thanks

Can you jump the solenoid to force it to engage? Tractor is still under warranty; hesitant fiddling with.

Richard, I know very little about the CK2610HST, but the fact that you get no voltage at the solenoid when turning the key switch to start may be an important clue. Have you checked all the fuses in the fuse box? This might be something as simple as a short in a circuit that is critical to the electrical starting sequence, e.g., the parking brake/parking light circuit, that is preventing the necessary signal getting to the ECU, which in turn triggers the starter solenoid.

Have a look at this post I made three years ago about a mysterious starting issue on my NX4510HST Cab. https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kioti-owning-operating/367963-tip-nx-series-owners-mysterious.html Turned out to be a blown fuse caused by a chafed wire in one of the parking brake light fixtures!

I would try jumpering between the Main and Control terminals of the solenoid with the key switch in the start ("On") position. If the tractor starts and continues to run, then it may be a blown fuse interrupting the starting sequence, as in my case.

Checked all fuses… ok.
Brakes lights work.
Still see 010H codes in hour meter display.
Sprayed key switch with lubricant. Turns somewhat easier. Did not resolve issue.

However, this time when I turned to pre-start position, I heard that regular “click”. I had not been hearing the “click” since the flashing dash issue. At least I think so, tried so many times, hard to remember them all.

Thanks for you-all comments. Was not expecting so many responses.

I took my ignition switch apart and cleaned the contact plate inside the switch, and it cleared everything and has been starting clean.

Glad you got it working.

Was there a little burnt spot on the ignition switch? I had that happen on my GrandPrix from the way they connected the accessory power. The solution for preventing it was to add a relay between the ignition and the 12v constant that supplied the accessories. That might work on the Kioti's also.
Here are two links that might help to see how to correct for the car (sorry i could not check the links the site is blocked at work).

If still under warranty see if you can get them to supply a replacement switch.

Well, I sprayed WD40 - lots. Wiggled alot, switched on - off - start positions several times. No good.
Still flashing dashlights per video and code 010H in hour meter.

Still could be switch. Seems other folks have used wd40 to resolve.
thanks

Per another Kioti dealership service manager suggestion. Despite my voltage readings; he said need a load test on it.
It was a dead battery! Put another battery in and it started right up! A fairly new tractor, none of the date code punch hole on the battery were removed, so who knows how old it is.

So, if you get a new tractor, make sure the date codes are recent on battery.
thanks much for all your help.
