Hello,

Looking at some used grader chains for my tractor and the size is listed as 1600-24 (or 16-24 or 16.00-24) does that mean the chains are 24" x 16' laid flat?

Or that it's for a 16-24 size tire? If so that's a 16" wide tire tread on a 24" diameter rim right?

Thanks

No about the chain measuring.
Chain fitment is described by the tire size.
The chain described will fit a 16x24" tire with the tire rim being 24" in diameter.
The chain will be much wider than 16 inches to fit a 16" wide tire as the chain must overlap both sides of the tire.

OK thanks. My tractor has 14.9x24 tires so these will probably fit if I shorten it by a link or two, save me a lot of $$.

Maybe... might be too wide and interfere with steering or axle components (if on the fronts)

Rear only and plenty of fender clearance but I'll double check thanks
