Was wondering at what rpms does everyone run their engines at for different tasks like mowing pushing snow etc? Should I always run my engine at the rated 3200 rpms on my BX 2350.
Full speed for mowing gives the best blade speed. When snow plowing I vary the engine operation speed to need sometimes. But to get the most ground speed for moving snow you need to use full engine rpm's.
I use full rpm's with the rear blower, to get the most power to throw the snow(~2600), but for pushing the snow I keep the rpm's to just over 2000. I find that I get little tire spin with the lower rpm, and are able to push the snow further. I do not like to operate below 2000 rpm.
When I mow, I run my 2350 flat out, which is a little more than 3200 rpms. For every thing else, I usually run around 2200-2500 rpms. I am a little smoother with the end loader when the engine is running a little slower.
