Since it was idling well before the new carb, I went back and put the old one back on. So, I am at the same spot as I started. Any uphill or the governor increasing fuel causes it to start missing and it will die if the uphill continues. Passes fuel qty. test. Has orange spark at all 4 cylinders at idle. I have the output of the generator to almost max (+15 amps on the ammeter) and the generator is warm/hot to touch. As I increase RPM's, while sitting, it will come to full power, again with an orange spark. If I add in the PTO with a mower providing load, it will stutter and then come to full power in a few seconds. I only have 3V across the resistor so I believe I am getting weak spark and the engine misfires when a load is placed on it? I am going replace the resistor block next and if I don't get more voltage output to the coil, I'll jumper across the resistor and see what happens. The battery stays fully charged (checked with a battery checker) so can I assume the generator is charging correctly and can its output be checked across the terminals of the cut-out relay? Also, does anyone know what the ohm value of the resistor should be?
