engine help lb 1914

picked up this tractor as a project. cheap,, its in great shape other than the engine.it was not cared for in anyway. p o said it had a bad headgasket. so i pulled the head . there was antifreeze in the pan,,2bent pushrods number 2 liner is cracked .everything else seems ok. the head is at the machine shop for magnafluxing. my question is has anyone did the kobata d 950 switch in there kioti from the daedong td 950.kioti has new engines about 7000.they donot rebuild old engines, i found a rebuilt kabota d 950 for half the money. probably been asked this question alot.the tractors not worth a 7000 engine. thanks for any info on this subject.

According to this very vague thread, https://www.tractorforum.com/threads/hello-guys.35546/ it has the same bolt pattern. Not a lot to go by there though. Perhaps you could try and get ahold of that user.

thanks alot for the reply. ive read that the kabota d950 from a 8200 would bolt right in to the chasis and transmission but then i did a little more digging and read that it wouldnt. i just dont want to spend the money if no one deffinately knows. depending on what the machine shop says about the head i might just rebuild the td 950. its about the same money just more time involved especially with ordering parts. i notice kabota sells 950 rebuild kits but daedong parts have to be ordered seperately. its to bad they dont rebuild these engines.

I could swear that I read previous posts about this engine and they are/where used in reifer trailers for the refrigeration units and a member found one that way. Just a thought. Maybe do a search for previous posts.

art do you know if any yr d950 will work. i have a lead on a d950 i dont know how to figure out the serial number for the yr of the engine. kabota d950 686414 is what i got. can any one tell the yr? thanks
