Usually red, they run better
I havn't seen much about engine electrolysis on the forum. I have been using ph test strips and a ph balancer. Anyone else have anything easier? Here in Alaska, it doesn't seem to be a large problem but we use 50/50 antifreeze mostly year round.

Honestly, I dont have an answer for you... But in my experience and from what I know about it.... You only have electrolosys issues when there are dissimilar metals in the cooling system.. Meaning cast iron block w/ Aluminum heads (or heater core in my experience).... The coolant flow across the dissimilar metals actually creates a voltage.. This volltage wants out... It will find a path, hence the holes in components.. Others may have better explanations and stories for you, but since no one posted yet I thought I'd just tell you my take on it and recomend a general web search for cooling system electrolosys...

If you are already using a conditioner ( presumably for PH, cavitation, and electrolysis).. then what are your concerns? Souinds like you are doing it right.

I agree with Soundguy, if you keep clean coolant in the system it will never be a problem. We have checked cars in the shop and seen as high as 5v on a digital volt meter between the block and heater core with worn out coolant. Same car after a flush and fill will show >0.3v.

Thanks fellows, I just had not noticed any threads on the subject and wondered if there was any common problems I should be aware of. Thanks for your good advice and concerns.

Whenever I change the coolant in my diesel tractors, I pick up a bottle of FW-15 coolant addatave from NH... costs about 5 bucks. You use ti with test strips to keep a 5% soloution.. etc. Prevents electrolysis and cavitation..
