I was talking to Ken today about some electrical stuff and pulled up the 1845/50 wiring chart. I also have JHC wiring mod... This all said, I was confused about one thing. The PT Deutsz engine has a Generator and not an alternator for power, right? So at the Generator connections there is a spare connection noted on the alternator [Alt [W]] Anyone have any idea what that output is and any specs for it?

I'm pretty sure it's just terminology. Some manufacturers say alternator, some say AC generator. I'm pretty sure all the DC generators faded away some decades ago.

I agree. The alternator is so much simplier and last longer with less maintenance. I suspect it cost less to build today.

Yeah, last time I saw a generator was on my old mans willies jeep. This said, what i was really wondering about was what the W on the electrical schematic was to. It is clearly (as clearly as a PT schematic can make it) sourced from the alternator... Any ideas? Have to talk to Terry tomorrow so I will ask...
