Electrical connections

I've been too busy getting ready for a shed build and deer season to do much on this BUT, i did get a chance to check out that connector on the back left side of my tractor that was bundled up... I pulled it out and looked at it, the connector was jumpered, I pulled the jumper and my tractor died. Huh. Plugged it back in and the tractor started right back up. Wut? If this the seat kill switch that the dealer jumpered out?

I will be adding a Master Disconnect to my tractor shortly. No sense in taking any chances with something shorting out. Also, this will prolong battery life when tractor sits idle for long periods of time.

Coming from the motorcycle world, we use stuff like this so we don't have to hack too much into finicky computer controlled wiring harnesses - Fuzeblocks FZ-1 Distribution Block

Works good for adding lights and other stuff and keeps it at least a bit isolated from the factory stuff.

Interesting option, thanks for that. I'm sure I can find something safe that doesn't cost near a C note.

Which does remind me, I need to pack my multimeter as I'm headed to my place for rifle deer season.

Yeah, anytime anything is "for motorcycles" it doubles in price. But seems that's not far from true with tractors either. There are less expensive fuse blocks out there, but ones like this have a built in relay and let you chose circuits being constant or ignition switched and make a tidy package easily tucked into smaller spaces.

I have a Kubota L series tractor. I purchased an aluminum project box off eBay for under $10. I'll mount it by the seat where the cruise control would go (if I had a cruise control). I'm running a twelve volt line directly from the battery through a circuit breaker and from there to an eighty amp relay. The relay will only be energized when the switch is on. That line will then go to my project box and a fuse block in side. The fuse block was in the $10 range. This has cost more than expected - doesn't it always? I think it'll cost me about $50 to power my new $25 light bar. I'll add a couple other things but even with the lights the project should be well under $100.

Did you ever get this done? Have a diagram. Info on breaker, relay?
