electric pump for a homemade loader

I'm looking to build a loader for a homelite/Jacobson garden tractor. Pto don't work right now. I want to use electric pump to run it. I really want to know how to do it

1- toggle switch to run pump then use regular hydraulic levers

2- i really want to do something like a plow controller and dump the toggle switch. Any idea how i could do that

Have you thought about how that very marginal battery charger on the garden tractor is going to manage to keep up with the current draw of what you are proposing?

Install a good power steering pump and use that for your hydraulics. Then hope that your starter has enough oomph to turn the motor over with the drag of the pump or fix your pto so that you can run the hydraulic pump off of that.

That draw was one problem. One person just recently built a loader for a mtd and he said a power steering pump from a big truck was not fast enough. I can find decent pumps and valves on craigslist for little to pennies. That's my goal for this build. Good strong loader for little$

If the pumps are pennies, then why not two pumps? If the solenoids on these pump units are for two way cylinder operation, two switches and your in business. That is until you drain the battery down.
