Electric /hyd linear actuators

I have a Mitts MT160 with a Frontier rb1060 blade on the back (5 ft).It doesn't have rear hyds and all I use it for is smoothing out my cottage road witch is mostly gravel and small rocks.I hate stopping and adjusting the blades angle and tilt.Question is,instead of modifing the hdys to get rear hyds,would a 12v linear actuator hold up to the blade forces.Ive searched old threads and see snow blade or rear lift but not tilt and angle on a rear blade.Has anyone done this and does it hold up and hold it postion.Could somone explain in non computer lingo how to post pictures

I have considered the same thing using actuators in the 500 - 1,000 lb thrust range, but don't feel that they can hold up to the shock loads ground work imparts.

One application which might work would be a grapple on a FEL. Even then, I would connect the rod end to a "scissors" type linkage similar to what you see on backhoe buckets to help share the loads. If you think about how a scissors car jack works, you can see that as the links get more in line with each other, the higher the lift forces become with a relatively modest input force. With some playing around with the link lengths, there might just be a useful combination.

I think you would end up paying the same or more for the proper actuators vs. going with the traditional hydraulic cylinder setup, they would also be VERY slow.

I considered using electric actuators to angle my snow blade, but stopped when I looked the static hold capabilities. Moving the blade in the air is easy; withstanding the operational forces is the tough part, and that's where hydraulics have the edge.
