The answer to what "get a mere 2 cylinder yanmar" because the things are proven, simple and basically bulletproof! If you only need a tractor in the 15-25 hp range I would want one of these proven engines.

A dear friend of mine had a Yanmar with a 2-cly 2T80 engine and a FEL. The 2-cly really limited the FEL movement to being really slow when the bucket was loaded. Then it was even worse as he backed up. The engine groaned under load. He said, if it was a 3-cly, no problem.

The 3-cly are just as good too.
