Eastwood mig 175

Got this welder in May and the wire drive motor is acting up. Nothing happens when I press the trigger but if I hold the trigger and power off the machine it will put out a 6" of wire. I called the company and a recording tells me they had a fire and are out of commission for a while. I'm guessing it a matter of finding a new motor but where do I find one?

I know this isn't a lot of help but from what you wrote I would conclude the motor itself is probably OK and the problem is elsewhere.

I got in touch with Eastwood and they are going to replace the welder. FedEx is coming over to pick it up tomorrow. Turns out it was a chip board and not the motor. I wired the motor directly and I ran so that was clear.

I feel like I was impatient with them at first. once I realized the fire was not just a story all I had to do was give them time to get back on their feet. I'm feeling more confident I didn't make a mistake using them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I think we all get that way sometimes. I know I do.

Give them a chance and go from there. Good luck.
