Easiest way to change hitch ball sizes

Also, how's he going to keep that 3pt drawbar from rolling over? Start adding up costs. Drawbar + linkages/retainers + clips, etc..... and the $24 triple ball hitch starts looking pretty attractive.

I will not buy a 3 point setup because that is expensive and heavy and ties up those attachments.

You might be thinking about something different, because they are not expensive or heavy. In fact, mine weighs ballpark about the same as the drawbar and ball that I slide in it. They cost $50-200 depending on the type and where you buy them. Some you can even assemble from a couple typical 3-point hitch components.

True, it does tie up the 3-pt hitch, but they are easy to put on and take off, and you're not going to be towing anything from the drawbar if you have another implement on the 3-pt hitch anyway.

Another option, for folks that tend to have a certain implement attached most of the time, is to see if you can mount a receiver or ball mount to the implement. Seen a lot of folks do that with box blades.

Finally, a lot of folks will mount something to their front bucket instead -- there are clamp on receivers, for instance. This lets you move and position trailers from the front bucket.

Anyhow, there are lots of options that are not expensive or heavy, and that offer a lot of versatility. Unfortunately, the drawbar on most tractors is setup for pulling and is not real amenable for trailer towing or moving trailers around. That is why there are a lot of other options available.

Yep. Several folks on here have done that. Seems to work great.

When I bought an ARGO years ago, it came with a 1-7/8" ball, with a long smooth shank and hole in the end for a pin. It could go in a clevis. I have never seen anything like it again.

I switched everything, I mean all trailers to 2". Been glad I did ever since.

That was my solution, too... worked great...!!!!!! :)

Get a hitch receiver frame for your 3-point hitch. It is loads easier to use than dealing with the fixed drawbar and has a standard receiver tube that you can use to swap out draw bars or rotate a 3-ball setup. Once you get used to hitching up this way (back up to trailer and lift the 3-pt from your seat) you値l never go back to the old way.
My buddy gave me one since i wouldn't take any money for hauling beans to the mill. I love it. i use it mainly for my log splitter but also for moving EMPTY trailers around the farm. It weighs 45-50 lbs. I believe this one came frome Titan attachments. Around $125 with free shipping.
