A recent thread dealt with front tires losing air, and the headaches associated with tubes, patches, etc. When I need to work on anything other than a car size tire, I use this setup: It's simply an existing barn stair post braced well and fitted with a long 1/2" threaded rod and a large wing nut. Having the rim and tire braced against a solid backing makes it much easier to handle and enables me to break the bead using a very large C-clamp. I thought maybe showing the concept would make the job easier for someone else here.
