Howdy John,
Sorry to hear about this problem you are having with your new truck. I was looking into a new Chevy with the Duramax/Allison. I was concerned about this being a first model year system, and they assured me it had been tested to death. They also stated very proudly that" If you ever have ANY problem with the engine/transmission, Chevy would replace the entire package and figure out the problem later". That was reassuring but it sounds like a lie. Please ask your dealer about a complete motor replacement. I would never allow them to tear down a new truck without offering an extended warrenty that stretched in the next century.
