Dumpster diving finds - let's see yours

I've picked up a lot of good stuff over the years, but a nice recent find was a Bissell carpet cleaner, the hot water one for pets. They were setting it out for garbage pickup so I asked for it, just for the long cord for a grinder. They said it just quit working; when I tested it I found that when I emptied the pickup tank and the shutoff valve opened, it worked just fine.

My boss saw a bed slide poking out of a dumpster. 2 tiny welds to make it good as new.

I have picked up about 6 million bungee cords along the road, and two chain binders. Seems like most of the bungee cords were missing at least one of the S hooks (which is why they were on the road), so I also picked up the S hooks whenever I saw them while running.

When we lived in Alaska, I always had a small cutting torch and 50 feet of hose in my vehicle. In a land where there was so much gold mining - always scrap steel to be purloined.

Picked this up this morning, someone set it out for trash. Just needed a start capacitor. Made my day!

Todays Redneck Santa find. To be clear, I did Not find a bucket full of tools on the side of the road. I found a bucket worth of tools scattered in the travel lanes. If it was a bucket sitting in the grass, I wouldn't have messed with it; but vehicles were swerving around the stuff, and I kicked it all to the curb and picked up the bigger stuff. I have found a nearly complete Quinn Socket set, with ratchets; a NAA 22mag pistol (hand messed up, probably a traffic stop pitch out the window deal), several knives, lots of single sockets, plenty of hammers, including a Snap-On deadblow, a 6 ft directional drill rod, a cheap working but cracked screen tablet (locked), several drivers licenses, ect.

Years ago, I found a Police Evidence tagged cardboard gun box. We actually called the cops on that (it was empty), and they said it was trash.

Found a brand new, cut up, Honda Shadow motorcycle once, called cops on that, but they said it would be like 2 hours to show up, so I just left.

We found a suspicious looking bone once, looked a lot like a lower human leg bone; not fresh; wasn't deer or hog or bear; but we had good overtime already in the week, and we couldn't risk job getting shut down and loosing our OT, so that got pitched into the woods. Don't know what it was, and I'm not an expert. If you could definitely tell it was human, we would have called, but not going to give up money on a "looks kinda like" bone.
