Have any of you seen the dual driver drill ad on tv? They claim it is a very good drill and even take it out to contractor sites. Have you bought one since seeing this ad? I ordered one to try out for two weeks. You get a charger with it, case, drill bits, and a life time of free battries. If you have one let know how you like it.

Someone showed up with one last year while we were setting up for the yearly Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation banquet. I used it to assemble some taxidermy displays. It seemed ok for light work such as that, but I just didn't get the feeling it would stand up well to tough jobs.

First thing I'd do if I ordered one, would be take it to a two or three story building and throw it off... see if it works as advertised.

If you recall the commercial, "only the battery came off, *AS IT WAS DESIGNED TO*", so if you toss it off a building and the battery doesn't seperate, it must be defective.

Hey Pete. I've been using one of the dual drills for about 6 months now. It works as advertised. I've used it for metal roofing with a drill bit to help start the tough holes. I was suprised how long the battery held up under constant work. I just wish I had ordered the second battery when I made the original purchase so I didn't have to switch over to another drill. Only draw back I've found is it doesn't fit my drill holster.

I hate to change the subject around but I bought a 9.5v DeWalt drill 10 years ago and it has always worked perfect. I dropped it off the roof and cracked it a little but it is held together with tape and works fine. My wife got me a new DeWalt for Christmas (12volt) since she knew I liked the old one so much and I have been using it for the last 11 months. If I charge the 2 batteries in the new one and don't use it for 2 days the batteries go dead and I have to charge it before using it. I just went and used my old one that has been laid up since last Christmas and it was fully charged and completed my job. Did they change the type of batteries that they use or do the 9.5 volt batteries hold a charge 11 months more than the 12 volt ones?

They might have given you old batteries that have been laying around in a warehouse somewhere. I have the DeWalt 18 volt units and they hold a good charge for months. I do have one battery that does loose the charge quickly, but it is also the oldest one of the bunch. I always rotate my batteries to keep all of them exercised. With the cost of a battery, it is sometimes cheaper to buy a new tool.

Added bonus, it works with much better drills than the dual drill.
