The filter issue for me is that I keep thinking maybe I can get better pics. I never thought about editing to improve. I just view em as shot.

The catch thing is my feeble attempt to protect the drone from dust, etc., when landing. I've caught the X Star hundreds of times and never had an issue. Even in gusty wind. I learned it's traits and know when to take ahold of it. As I mentioned earlier, the E2 seems to be much more stable when hovering. I'm just reluctant to put my hand in there. I suspect the prop would cut a finger cleanly off....

Richard, I do think you should try ND filters. I keep telling myself to get a set. Just haven't done much flying lately to keep reminding me. I used to use them in my photography days but that hobby has gone cold for now. Please post some comparison pics w/ and w/o if you do.

I'm down to one reliable battery and can't get new ones anymore. That's why I bought the E2.

Can you get them repacked like power tools, I am aware that there are some electronics in the pack that may prevent this.
I must admit I like my Mavic but there were no options when I got mine, now we have an optical zoom and a variable aperture as well as the Pro......................... at a price.
Took this a short while ago for the fencer, left the polarising filter at home which would have helped with the sun coming up.

I kept my spare intelligent battery from my Fimi when I returned it. I opened it up to see what sort of magic was in there. Apart from the secret squirrel board there was a 3 cell 4500 mAh battery pack that would be possible to remove or replace. However, from all accounts, some of these intelligent battery packs have a counter that records cycles and a circuit that prevents using the battery if it has been over discharged. So, whether that may prevent replacing the cells I don't know.

My battery pack was actually glued into the case but could probably be removed with a bit of elbow grease. I didn't try it but I will in the near future as I can certainly use a 4500 mAh battery pack for my other drones. It is an August 2020 built pack so it is not old. I normally run 2200 mAh 3 cell packs so I should get a good flight time with the 4500.

Finger injuries shouldn't amount to too much from a drone with folding props. Not Like my 11cc Saito that bit me recently and cost me 5 stitches. :(

Yeah, yeah, I know I'm a slow learner.

I'll be a puss and use a leather glove the first few tries. :)

I've worried about this since I bought my first Drone. I try to not accelerate the problem. I don't abuse people with my Drone. I don't buzz crowds or hover over them. I don't fly low over or around people's homesteads without permission first.

I was concerned when I heard that zoom cameras are now available. Even though it's digital zoom, it still can be invasive.

My new Drone has this feature. At 1,000ft distance I can zoom in on my house until it fills the picture. At that distance you'll not know I'm there and/or potentially looking at you. Even if you possibly see me, you won't be able to tell if I'm looking at you or not.

So all I can do is be polite and considerate.

As with several "hobbies" in this great nation, Droning is growing at such an alarming rate that it will become extremely hard for any sort of laws/rules to be enforced.

One method of enforcement that I am fully in favor of is identification tracking. My Drone should emit a signal that identifies it. That signal could be gathered by LEO to enforce any laws/rules I am breaking.

This is a description of a drone operator that will simply never generate complaints. If every drone operator was as courteous, drone privileges would not be under attack and new regulations wouldn't be needed. Kudos to you.

The FAA also thinks it's a good idea

The Federal Aviation Administration is planning to have remote ID service for drones a foundational component of integrating unmanned aircraft into the national airspace up and running by sometime next year, according to documents viewed by Avionics International.

I am a very responsible Drone operator but I think the laws and regulations are getting too strict. I understand protecting animal sanctuaries but why cant I take a few flights around a light house in Maine? Why is it completely illegal to fly there and other state parks? I do undersand privacy and noise protection but it seems to me they make NO accomadations for hobby drone fliers who want to take video or pics of these beautiful places.

I propose they at least let us fly for an hour once a week....like maybe 8am or when sun is rising or settling...thats all Im asking for. But noooooooooooo they have to completely ban the heck out of them.

Sometimes you dont even know until its too late. I almost got in trouble in Brazil at a waterfall in Chapada Dos Guimerez. My family who lives there says its ok to fly drones....so I did. I got ordered to land it by park rangers I didnt even know existed (or I would have asked them first). Told me you cant fly there because they were protecting the birds. So in that case I completely understand-they took a picture of my drone and my US and Brazilian drone licenses. So I learned the hardway not to trust what the locals says sometimes LOL. Assume its banned until you prove otherwise.
