When you say perfectly level/even/smooth, how perfect is perfect? It is smooth but it does have some gradual level issues. Spreading the top coat I moved it to the places where I needed it with the bucket then my wife raked it out by hand. I did drag a heavy pipe across to help on the leveling but it is not "perfect". I would have liked to run the back blade over it some but there is only about 1" of fines on the top and was worried about stirring things up and making a mess again.

As smooth as you'd like to have it forever...I didn't put in enough time, and there's some humps. I thought the roller would pack the high spots down more than it did and even things out...not so much.
