Drilling (or burning) large holes???

/ Drilling (or burning) large holes??? #81
Back to the topic with the caveat that I didn't read all of the posts.

One of the methods for getting "PERFECT" holes in my equipment is to torch (plasma cut now) a hole large enough for a bushing to be welded in. TSC has bushings of all sorts for converting Cat 1 to Cat 2 to Cat 3 as well as top link bushings. An auto parts store likely would have some as well.

Just torch out a hole big enough to fit the bushing. It won't be a perfect hole but that is OK because you'll get a 100% weld in places where it is a bit too big. Real weldors will cringe at the thought but it works on the farm.

How not to do a 2" hole in 1/8 plate: 1) use cheap hole saw; 2) burn off teeth; 3) drill another hole to insert jig saw blade; 4) use 5-7-8 el cheapo jig saw blades to finish cut.

All the disbarred lawyers I know are a lot worse than the ones that still have licenses.
