Today I put 1/4" cobalt drill bit through my right pinky. 4 stiches:). But the doctor was a tractor owner - 26hp Kubota:)

ouch! Hope you missed the bone. Drills can make for nasty injuries.

I have drilled sheet metal screws through my fingers several times.. When doing A/C work. Had to reverse the drill to get the screw out

What no pictures!
So how did that happen and what do I need to do to protect my appendages.

Oh yea...... 3/8" gets a doctors visit but 1/4".......I don't know about that:p

You are lucky he did not own a (gan)GREEN tractor, you will now be able to keep the finger.:thumbsup:

If you had cleaned up the edges of the hole with a countersink, you might have needed only 2 stitches.

And you have a handy place to hang/keep the house keys

Sorry to hear about your accident, considering how much I have used drills during the last 40 years I am probably fortunate I have never injured myself that way.

Not to hijack the thread, but my wife's brother in law has damaged fingers on both hands because he was careless with power saws...two separate incidents.

LOL. I am glad TBN stepped up to the challenge:)

I was drilling holes in vineyard trellis steel posts. They were bending under the pressure - decided to hold it against the drill and one time placed the hand carelessly.

:laughing::laughing::laughing:

After that, he could have tapped the hole and put a plug in there and needed NO stiches:D

I do know about it and its true, hopefully ya seared off the bleeding by placing your pinky on the other side of the piece to be drilled so ya didn't make a mess :)

Have you used a nail gun yet ? Ever shot a nail through your finger ? Not as bad as a drill . but, it doesn't feel very good either. It's quick:D

Prokop, I'm glad you are okay and not worse for the wear. I know there seems to be nothing that hurts quite like a hurt finger. I'm not gonna make some wise remark because that would be bad karma. It would surely come back to haunt me.
