I plowed with a John Deere 214 for a few years. Used added weight and chains. It was a ton of fun but not all that effective here in NH. For light snow or under 6" it worked fine, but if we got a heavy wet 10" snowfall I would really struggle. Once you get the first pass complete you can continue to move a half pass at a time but its hard to get it all to the sides without losing driveway width as you go.

You need the chains for sure, if there is a bit of hardpack under the tires the Ags won't do much for you without chains.

You may want to look into one of these.

I'm thinking about getting one for my CC GT 2554.
Looks like the price may be about the same as the Cub Cadet manual lift blade.

I was considering getting one for pushing snow and moving my pile of clippings I use for compost.
1*I didn't want to get one if it is going to ride up a lot or be flimsy.
2*How well do they work?
3*Do you need weights?

1*I don't think this one wil l

2*The front blade for my 1966 bolens 850 has served me well for 40 years and is still going strong so it's sure not flimsy.
I have chains on the ole Bolens I made from an old set of car chains I got free.
3*I hang a 12'' filled cement block on the back.This rig has moved mountains of snow, slag. gravel and dirt in the past 40 years.
